Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Her Baptism
(by Reed Haslam and Larry White)

Khun Srilak Suntarahut (aka Sister Srilaksana and Khun Mae Sri by members and missionaries) devoted most of her adult life to the service of Jesus Christ, Thai people and LDS missionary work. She freely donated years of effort and served as the key person in translating the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Hymns, Pearl of Great Price, and numerous other LDS Church publications. She did more to promote a knowledge of the restored gospel of Christ than any other person in Thailand. She no doubt continues to teach and serve as a faithful beacon to those who now reside in the Spirit World, who seek further knowledge about the true purpose of life.

It was a blessing to know her during my mission to Thailand. We first met in January 1970 at her home in Bangkok during translation work on the Book of Mormon. Years later, my family became her close friends while I served several tours of duty at the American Embassy in Bangkok and the American Consulate in Chiangmai. Indeed, Pauline and I are proud that she called us "Daughter" and "Son". Below are several pictures of this most special lady.
