Story Synopsis:
      Nero Wolfe is beset with a mixed bag of troubles in this case: Archie Goodwin threatens to resign because of Wolfe's laziness; a murder suspect causes Wolfe to "flee" from his own office during an interrogation; and the murderer is too clever to be convicted. Nevertheless, Wolfe exerts himself and maneuvers the murderer into committing suicide.
